Liu Xiaobo, scholar dissident, sentenced to 11 yrs in jail on 25 Dec 09 on charges of "inciting to subvert state power".
Liu was author of "Chapter '08", a document calling for political reform. He was also deprived of his political rights for a further 2 yrs.
